Dr. Sofia Krmpotich grew up in BorĂ¥s, Sweden, and lived in Germany for a year before moving to the United States. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Auburn University in 2019 and received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2024. During veterinary school, Dr. Sofia worked at the Canine Performance Sciences (CPS) nursery, where she helped care for bomb detection breeding dogs and their puppies. After graduation, she practiced in a mixed animal clinic in Alabama for nearly two years before joining the NVS team in June 2026. Dr. Sofia enjoys the variety that a mixed animal practice offers, and one of her favorite aspects of being a veterinarian is building lasting relationships with both animals and the people who care for them. Whether she is working with cattle on the farm or treating a beloved pet, she enjoys helping owners make informed decisions and seeing her patients thrive. Her professional interests include reproduction, lameness, soft

tissue surgery, and laceration repair across a variety of species. Outside of work, Dr. Sofia enjoys spending time outdoors and taking walks with her pit bull, Leonidas. She recently tanned her first cowhide and hopes to one day own land where she can raise her own cattle, combining her love of rural life with her passion for large animal medicine.
