Ron Keeler, D.V.M -- Owner/ Veterinarian
Ron grew up on his family farm where the clinic is now located. He graduated from Pretty Prairie High in 1986, received a BS in Animal Science in 1992, and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1994 from Kansas State University. He enjoys all aspects of Veterinary Medicine and lives by the motto "If it has a heart beat and isn't a human, I will be its doctor!" He is constantly mentoring young people interested in veterinary medicine. In his spare time he enjoys all different types of fishing and hunting as well as watching his kids play sports. His new hobby is creating custom hardwoods with his new sawmill.
Michelle Keeler — Office Manager/Owner
Michelle grew up in McPherson, Kansas. She graduated k-state in1992 with a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science and Business. Michelle and Ron have been married 30 years. They are proud of their three children, Clay, Haley, and CeCe (all pictured below). Michelle is the full time office manager of our very busy clinic. We often consider the clinic our second home and all our team is family. Michelle enjoys photography, horticulture, and art. She is pictured here with the family's African Grey parrots, Cybil and Homer. You can often hear ron saying, “ where is shel.” On crazy days… most days, Her motto is don't worry it will all work out. michelle is the glue that holds us together.
Julie McCoy, D.V.M — Veterinarian
Julie grew up on a farm in St. Paul, Kansas. She is the oldest of seven children. She received her BS in Biology from Wichita State in 2010 and her DVM from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. She joined the NVS team June 1st, 2014. Her and her husband Mike welcomed a son on July 9th, 2016 named Lucas Michael and a daughter on August 11, 2018 named Ellen “Ella” Paige. They also have three dogs: Scooter, Bruno, & Cheddar; & two horses: Sugar & Bob. In her spare time, she enjoys horseback riding, sewing and going back to Southeast Kansas to visit family.
Jennifer Bontrager — Receptionist
Jennifer grew up in McPherson, Kansas. She joined the NVS team in May of 2009. Jenn and her husband Brian have a very active 6 year-old son Michael, who loves his farm kitties and yellow lab Lucy. They also have an adorable toddler, Daniel who turned 2 on March 5th! HeLOVES TO TEST MOMMY. In her spare time...I dont think she has any...she still enjoys gardening, canning, and riding 4-wheelers and the jeep with her 3 men. Jennifer loves spending time with friends and family. jenn has been here for 10 years and we love her.
Sam Borrowman — Receptionist
Sam grew up in Hutchinson & graduated from Hutchinson High School in 2013. She joined the NVS team on March 30th 2018. Sam works at the clinic on Mondays & Fridays. She also works three days a week in labor & delivery at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. Sam & husband Levi have two dogs; Rosco and Ollie. In her free time she enjoys spending time at the lake camping and boating.
Ashlyn King -- Receptionist
Ashlyn grew up in Stafford but graduated from Haven High School in 2012. Ashlyn joined the NVS team on May 21st, 2018. In her free time she enjoys photography, painting, going to concerts, traveling with her dad racing, AND BIG TRUCKS. She also enjoys rescuing and taking in animals. these INCLUDE; a husky, two cats, turtle, chinchilla, and more. She also likes adding to parent's funny farm, where they also have an assortment of animals. Ashlyn has a great sense of humor and we adore her.
Amber Koons --Veterinary Technician
Amber joined the NVS team on September 20th, 2017. Amber grew up in Meade KS. She attended Colby Community College Veterinary Technician School and graduated in 2015. Amber never stops smiling and is the most awesome person to be around. both doctors would love to clone her so that they could each use her awesome talents all the time.
Gabriel "Gabe" Kruse - Veterinary Assistant
Gabe is a sophmore in college at Hutchinson Community College. His hobbies include riding his 4-wheeler, competitive mounted shooting. Gabe is a smart hard worker that will go far in life. hE PLANS TO BE AN eNGINEER. wE ARE VERY LUCKY TO HAVE HIM WORKING WITH US.
Clay is the son of Ron and Michelle Keeler. He is currently a SOPHOMORE STUDYING at Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. This has been a life-long goal. We are all extremely proud of him. Clay graduateD Pretty Prairie High School IN 2013, Hutchinson Community College IN 2015, AND KANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY IN 2017 with a Bachelors degree in Animal Science. He has spent his whole life working in the clinic in all different aspects and will follow in his father's footsteps. cLAY IS ENGAGED tO kASEY rAMSEY AND pLANS TO BE MARRIED IN 7/20/2019. CLAY USED TO enjoy spending time WORKING ON HIS mustang, as well as riding/repairing ATV's. hE CURRENTLY STUDIES AROUND THE CLOCK. wE TELL HIM VET SCHOOL WONT LAST FOREVER.
KASEY IS THE DAUGHTER OF KATHY AND CHRIS RAMSEY. SHE IS CURRENTLY ENGAGED TO CLAY KEELER. KASEY IS ALSO A SOPHOMORE IN THE COLLEGE OF VETERInARY MEDICINE AT KANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY. kASEY GREW UP IN ROCHESTER, NEW YORK. kASEY IS BEAUTIFUL INSIDE AND OUT. WE LOVE HER SO MUCH ALREADY. SHE IS A BLESSING TO OUR FAMILY.
Haley is the daughter of Ron and Michelle Keeler. She is a senior at Pretty Prairie High School. She enjoys competing in volleyball, basketball, track, FFA, and forensics. When she is not participating in school activities, She always helps out at nvs. Her positive outgoing personality and skills are always appreciated here. Haley spent her summer prepping animals and assisting in the surgery room. She has numerous pets including A new HERD OF CATS. SHE IS now offically the clinics crazy CAT LADY.
CeCe is the daughter of Ron and Michelle Keeler. She is currently a sophmore at Pretty Prairie High School. She enjoys babysitting and spending time with Addie, our neighbor girl. She also loves her time with the clinic kids, Michael, Lucas, Daniel, & ELlA. CeCe's interests include golf, crafts, archery, and caring for her pig Daisy Mae. During the summer, CeCe helps out at the clinic with day-to-day procedures, organizing and as little cleaning as possible. She loves to tell us “ I may be small but I am mighty”. she can definitely do whatever she sets her mind on. She is awesome :)
